Hey everyone,
This is my last interviewing customers post. For this exercise I wrote out my business concept on an index card and handed it out to my "customers". I asked them for their initial thoughts on my business concept and proceeded to ask them a follow up question about what I could have changed or done differently to make things even better or more clear. The responses were very interesting and provided me with great feedback. A lot of people seemed to agree with the idea and thought it could be pretty helpful for students which I thought was encouraging. This surprised me because I did not expect so many people to have the same attitude as me. As I have stated in earlier posts, this concept is for everyone so I interviewed people from all over and with different types of majors to see what they thought about my concept! Thanks everyone and let me know what you all think!
Until next time,
-Bryce
Hi Bryce!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your interviews. You did a really good job talking with your potential customers and gaining valuable feedback from them. I didn't try the index card idea like you did, but I'm glad to see it was well-received by your interviewees!
Since you got such an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, it is totally worthwhile to keep your business venture idea going! I also got pretty positive feedback, and I plan to keep going with my idea :)
Thank you, and take a look over here to see my blog post if you get a chance: http://memazal.blogspot.com/2016/02/interviewing-customers-3.html
You did a great job with the way you conducted your interviews. I think when someone reads the idea on paper, it's easier for them to give a response stating their opinion rather than you trying to get their response through a bunch of questions. This way, their opinions are clear. I also liked how you asked your interviewees if there is anything you could change to better your idea. All in all, great job and good for you for receiving such positive feedback! If you want, you can check out my interviews here: http://kenny-o.blogspot.com/2016/02/customer-interviews-no-3.html
ReplyDeleteHi Bryce!
ReplyDeleteYou took a very different approach than what I've seen from anyone else so far: you actually filmed them reading the index card and got their reaction in real-time. While I think this is an awesome idea and worked well to get their raw reaction, I have a feeling they felt a bit pressured to answer quickly when you asked for a response immediately. Personally, after reading a business solution, I like to thoroughly digest it and run it through my head a few times before offering a response. I'd recommend waiting a bit longer for their natural response, as opposed to just asking. Either way, I think you have a great solution on your hands! Textbooks are a huge pain for many people, and in many cases simply a waste of paper. I look forward to seeing what comes of this! If you'd like to learn about my solution, you can find it below (as I did not participate in this round of interviews):

Best of luck!

Hey Bryce, good job with the interviews! The index card idea is something a lot of people miss in their interviews. I myself have flubbed questions or wasted interviewees time trying to recall them, so using an index card is a very smart fix to this. Your idea is solid too, and you've done a good job finding your demographic, which is something I have had to do as well. I'd link my post but I was unable to finish this assignment in time. Either way, great work!
